Fibers, Threads & Ribbons

At the foundation of our handwork is the fiber we thread through our needles. How carefully the thread or fabric was dyed, dried, cut, and packaged is significant to the quality of the finished product. We offer a full range of fibers to work with: Cotton, Linen, Ribbon, Silk and Wool.
Cotton
Cotton fibers for all forms of needlework including needlepoint, cross stitch, tatting, Hardanger, darning patterns, knitting, crochet and crewel.
Fine d'Aubusson
A very fine and soft embroidery wool made for Au Ver a Soie by La Route de la Laine in France. This lovely wool is finer than DMC Medici and comes in 8 meter hanks.
Gilt Sylke Twist
This is the silk thread wrapped with gold wire that is being used in the Plimouth Plantation embroidery project. The gilt thread accent may look subtle - but wait until you see it sparkle in the light!
Linen
This is the highest quality pure linen thread for embroidery, lacemaking, or book arts.
Ribbons
These gorgeous ribbons are luminescent. Pictures hardly do justice to their amazing texture, color and weight.
Silk
No other fiber comes close to the beauty of silk for both historical reproductions or contemporary needlework. For the time you'll spend on your project, invest in the best.
Silk Collections
Each of these collections contain various types of silk threads along with metallic threads in the appropriate shades. Contents of each Ensemble will vary according to the threads available.
Wool
Renaissance Dyeing Wool (formerly Broider Wul) is a naturally dyed, fine plied lambswool for all types of needlework. As dye lots may change, please order all you'll need for your project at one time.
